I am a multidisciplinary artist from Colombia. Since I earned a BFA in the National University of Colombia, Bogotá, I have been exploring different techniques of expression using non-traditional materials. Through investigation and experimentation I created the “Estuary” name that I have given to my work in which I use glass cubes filled with colored water and a variety of evocative objects. The cubes are a three dimensional extrapolation from the illusion of unity conveyed by the agglomeration of pixels on a computer screen. They are a rich but mangled partial reflection of the industrial over-production of useless and corrosive materialism so destructive of the modern psyche. A chemical interaction among the objects, the water and the color form deposits like the alluvium of natural Estuaries and so develops a suggestion of these.
