JOSEFINA MONSON GIESSINGER
Her theme of her multi-media art revolves around her interest in Mexican Culture from the Pre-Hispanic era to current artisan projects dealing with Casas Grande and Paquime pottery. She is authorized (the only one in the State of Chihuahua) to reproduce ancient replications of Mexican Pre-Hispanic art. Since joining the El Paso Art association, she now has expanded her reproductions of ancient cultural art encompassing other civilizations throughout the world.
Over the past several years, Josefina works revolved around creating exquisite works dealing with wax. She has now expanded into working with pottery, metal, jewelry, and now mix acrylic painting. All still dealing with ancient cultures.
Over the past several years, she has exhibited in New York, Milan, Chicago, San Antonio, Odessa, Milwaukee, in the U.S... In Mexico she has exhibited in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua City, Paquime, Leon, Gto.,. Outside of her native Mexico and the U.S. she has had showings in Milan Italy, Guatemala, Costa Rico, and Panama,. She is a rather frequent guest on radio and television in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, where she applies represents Mexican artisans by promoting them and their crafts.
