Itzel Carretto, Mexican visual artist graduated from “La Esmeralda” in 2001.
She began her plastic training in 1995 with several art workshops bringing together different plastic techniques and theory.
She has taken part in more than 30 exhibitions, between which they stand out León Trosky Museum, La Esmeralda Gallery, S Menache Gallery in México and La llorona Arte Gallery in Chicago US, among others in London, Buenos Aires and Barcelona.
She has collaborated in stage scene, photography and Art direction in two shorts in the Cinematographic Training Center
In 2003 she produces and directs the short “Fatal Espejo” (Fatal Mirror) in 16mm, which was selected for the XV AVALON Film Festival and was the Best Animation short film winner. Later she produced other three shorts in 35mm that have been shown in several international film festivals.
Her pieces have changed through the time by her creative processes, firm and strong lines, facials and filled with color, with characters that are the leaders of stories, their own and someone else’s stories that reflect soul lines looking aesthetic languages and styles that are part of this endless journey that is art.
